JSC “State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine” resumes its own agricultural production.
Thus, at the branch of JSC “SFGCU” “Velykolepetyskyi Elevator” (Kherson region), which has sown areas of 4.8 thousand ha, the sowing of winter wheat on the area of 540 ha was resumed. Winter barley was also sown on the area of 700 ha and winter wheat is planned to be further sown on the total area of 2100 ha.
Increasing its own production is of strategic importance for the further development of the corporation. In the near future, the Board of JSC “SFGCU” will consider the possibility of increasing the rent for the use of land. This will enable the branches to become more competitive and maintain the land bank of the Company’s branches.
As previously noted by the Acting Chairman of the Board Vasyl Kovalenko, the Company intends to become a grain trader with a full production cycle: “The principled decision of the government: SFGCU must remain on the market and continue to operate. It needs to be transformed into a global state national grain trader with a full cycle of grain production — from cultivation to sale. In fact, the Chinese have also repeatedly stressed that SFGCU should have the land bank to grow the necessary products to supply to China”.
